Many people prefer to live in mobile homes nowadays. When I bought my mobile home I anchored it in concrete. I thought this would help in getting homeowners insurance. I also had add ons to the home like a porch, garage, attic and laundry room. I was in for a surprise! 5 insurance agencies turned me down on homeowners insurance. One insurance company said that the reason for denial was no central air, another said that the mobile home was old and so on.
After finding an insurance agency, we had to comply with regulations like railings for stairs, fire equipment and exit strategies from the homes in case of an accident. Pictures of all parts of the home had to be handed to the agency.
