How to Decorate Your Mobile Home

Decorating a mobile home is not entirely different from decorating a traditional home. But there are some differences. There are built in features in mobile homes, but these can be easily modified or replaced.

One area that foxes many mobile home owners is the wood panel type walls. Decorating these sometimes poses a challenge. You can just paint the panel in a lighter shade or get  rid of that kind of look. One good option is covering it with wallpaper. While doing this, use putty or caulking to fill in the grooves.

The room size should be considered while coloring your mobile home. Light colors lend a spacious look to your rooms. A good coat of fresh paint can change the look of cupboard doors. You can make your cabinets and doors look like antiques with the faux painting technique.

Gather some simple fabric skirts to give your kitchen a country style look. You can attach them to the cabinet faces using velcro. If your glassware collection is worth displaying, detach the door and use them as displays.

Giving your home interior a thorough updating will require some cash but if you have the means, you can begin by installing new cabinetry.

Decorating a mobile home is an art and a craft. It is both fun and tiring. Take the help of all the family members to make it a collective effort that takes away much of the strain from decorating your mobile home.
