Repairing Mobile Home Floors
Rotten and damaged floors are a major issue in mobile homes. Floors need to be maintained and repaired. In older homes this is a bigger problem due to particle board. Particle board disintegrates when wet. Now building standards for mobile homes are higher than was the case previously.
For flooring, you need 2 by 4 pieces, plywood, screw gun, hammer and nails, pry bar and circular saw. The thickness of plywood used must depend on the floor.
To repair mobile home floors, you need to begin by removing the floor covering. Removing carpet is easy but linoleum and tiles may be damaged and unusable. After marking damaged areas, set the blade depth to no more than 1 inch. After cutting the hole, removing the damage, and arranging for support members, cut plywood and secure it in place neatly.
Screws are preferable to nails for securing it in place. This is how you complete a floor repair in mobile homes. If many large areas of the floor are damaged, overlaying plywood over the entire area may be easier
